Architecture School and Beyond
Architecture is an exciting and highly competitive industry with a wide variety of career options. Many architects work on public spaces and city projects, while others focus solely on private buildings and residential projects. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics outlines the following three milestones for beginning a career in architecture:
- Earning an architecture degree
- Completing three years of on-the-job training
- Passing the Architect Registration Examination
Though your first internship during architecture school won't pay very much, the average annual salary earned by architects in 2004 was $60,300 according to the BLS.
